Final Exam

4. Throughout the year I took a couple hundred photos for this class. My transformative photo would have to be one of my pictures from the Inspired by a Master project we did in the beginning of the school year. This image was taken at a time when I knew very little about photography or had any substantial experience. It is my transformative photo because I learned the basics of photography and after I was able to capture this image I began taking much better photos.















5. The difference between shape and form is that they're dimensions are different. Shapes are in 2D while form is a shape in 3D. Shapes have width and length and usually have clear and defined borders such as a poster or painting. Form on the other hand, has width, length, and also height. Examples of form are sculptures and metal works.

6. Pattern is a combination of elements or shapes repeated in a recurring arrangement. Repetition is the repeated use of a shape, color, or other element of art or design in a work that unifies different parts as a whole.

8.My best work to date
This is my best work so far because I have never taken higher quality photos than the ones included in this project. The main thing that I learned from this project was the importance of good lighting. I was given the opportunity to use a soft box and a small photography box that acted as a studio and backdrop. The results were amazing and better than anything I've taken before. This project changed me because before I would focus on the subject I wanted to take a picture of and paid little attention to other variables such as lighting. This project taught me that there are very technical variables in photography that affects the resulting photograph significantly.

Story with a Photo- Fluffy

I enjoy taking long strolls next to the creek by my house. It not only helps relieve the stresses of life but also gives me a chance to exercise. During these strolls I am often accompanied by my girlfriends Siberian husky, Fluffy, who also enjoys long walks. Two days ago while we were on our daily route, we came across a heard of goats grazing in the grass. When the goats saw Fluffy they immediately ran away. Fluffy, however was very interested. I decided to snap a picture to capture the interesting moment. 

MSJMCW Story

Mission San Jose's Multicultural Week is one of the most interesting events of the entire school year. A great deal of planning was put in by clubs, officers, and administrators so that every student has an opportunity to experience the excitement and joy. As the most romantic boyfriend on campus, I felt obligated to provide my bae with a positive multicultural week experience. It was her very first and i would hate to disappoint her. We rendezvoused at the front office we immediately went on a glorious adventure. As the best boyfriend in existence, I put a marvelous smile on her face at the end of the day.

Tuesday with Farley's Kids

Junior Wei and Derek Che

1. The shutter speed is fast because in order to freeze the moving trucks on the right of the photo the shutter speed had to be fast otherwise it would come out blurry. 

2. The photo shows the composition of depth. You can clearly see as the objects in the photo, such as the road, the trucks, and middle dived, get smaller and fade off into the distance. 

3. The photo presents the element of art of space as you can differentiate between the depths of the objects in the photo.  

4. The principle of design of emphasis is shown in this photo. When one views this photo their attention is drawn and automatically looks at the crashed truck on the left side of the road.

1. There is a multiple number of subjects to guide the viewer though the photo.

Half Past Autumn - Gordon Parks pt 1 and 2

1. Th doctor saved his life by putting him in cold water and rubbing him against ice.
2. Gordon was born in Kansas with his parents.
3. She told him that most Negroes don't go to college because they can only be maids or laborers and it would be a waste of his parents' money.
4. Gordon was 16 years old when his mom died.
5. After his mother died he went to live with his sister and brother in law in Minnesota.
6. Gordon did not graduate from college when he was young but he eventually did.
7. He went to a clothes store for rich white women, and asked the owner if he could shoot fashions.
8. Double exposure is when two photographs are exposed on the same frame of film.
9. Joe Louis was a boxer who was an African American professional boxer and heavyweight champion.
10. Gordon played the piano all thought his life.
11. The purpose of the Farm Security Administration was to educate the American public about poverty and combat it.
12. Stryker's first assignment for Gordon in Washington DC was to go shop at a specific store, eat at a restaurant, and watch a motion picture. None of the tasks could be accomplished because of the racism against Gordon.
13. Ella Watson was in janitor in the farm administration building that Gordon photographed.
14. The inspiration for Grant Wood's American Gothic was he architecture of a lone farm building and the culture of rural america.
15. Gordon learned from Stryker about photo that the people in front of the camera are the most important people, not the one taking the picture.
16. The FSA shut down in 1943.
17. After Gordon moved to New York, he shot for Vouge.
18. The picture editor of Life Magazine was Wilson Hicks when Gordon walked into the Life Magazine office.
19.  The first major story Parks covered for Life Magazine was on crime, following Red Jackson.
20.  After he moved to the Paris Life Magazine bureau, he mentioned the artists  Picasso, Vango, Brenard,and Brugol.
21.  He shot fashion by letting his models move, and moving with them.
22. Parks' concerto was performed in Venice.
23. Parks' second wife was Elizabeth Campbell Rollins and she was a model and her father was
24. He met Flavio when Flavio was 12.
25. Parks met Flavio in the early 1960's.
26. Flavio lived in rio de janeiro in a favela when Parks first met Flavio and his family
27. Gloria Vanderbilt was an author actress and heiress. Her son is Anderson Cooper, and news anchor for CNN. Her ancestors are the Vanderbilt family who made a fortune in the railroad industry then expanded.
28. She said they were friends, but she also didn't care about the social boundaries, but Parks new that they mattered and would stop them from being anything more.
